Iranian state media say the country’s supreme leader has been killed.
February 28th, 2026 (GMN) - President Donald Trump earlier said on social media that Ali Khamenei is dead, saying his passing is “the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country.”
The announcement came after a joint U.S. and Israeli aerial bombardment that targeted Iranian military and governmental sites.
Iran retaliated by launching missiles and drones toward Israel and U.S. military bases in the region.
